insurance

Medical Plans

Comprehensive coverage for you and your family is offered through a choice of two Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans, and a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.  100% of the single rate premium for employee-only coverage under the Low HMO option is company-paid.

Dental Plan

Through Delta Dental of VA, we offer a PPO option to eligible employees and their dependents which provides comprehensive dental coverage and the flexibility to select any dentist.  

Vision Plan

Eligible employees may choose to participate in the vision plan offered through VSP which provides for annual eye exams, coverage for glasses or contact lenses and discounts on laser vision correction from participating facilities.

Company Provided Basic Term Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

Employee coverage is automatically provided at 1.5 times your base annual salary.  Optional term life coverage is also available for purchase for both you and your dependents at varying levels.

Disability Insurance

Income protection is an important consideration in the event a participant becomes ill or disabled and is unable to work for an extended period of time.  Both Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) insurance are automatically provided to assist you in maintaining your family's financial stability in the event that you are absent from work due to illness or injury.

pto/holidays

Paid Time Off

As an eligible employee, you will be awarded 120 hours (15 days) of Paid Time Off (PTO) annually on the first day of the calendar year.  PTO is calculated on a pro rata basis for employees depending on their start date and does not accrue.  These hours are immediately available.

Employees are eligible for ten standard holidays during the year, as follows:

401K Savings Plan

K.I.S will match 100 percent of your contributions to our company-sponsored 401K plan up to 3 percent of your eligible compensation. The plan allows eligible employees to save a certain amount of their pay on either a pre-tax or after-tax basis.  All contributions are vested immediately.  The plan meets all requirements of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.

Education Assistance

As an eligible employee you will qualify for assistance with your growth and development endeavors. Through our tuition reimbursement program we strive to encourage our employee's development through the formal education necessary that will enable them to improve or maintain job-related skills and pursue internal opportunities as they arise. Approval of tuition reimbursement is subject to management approval and dependent upon business conditions and availability of discretionary funds. 

Direct Deposit

We offer the convenience of payroll direct deposit. This service is available throughout the Hampton Roads area, and ensures funds will be deposited before 2:00 pm on payday.
