April 2008

KIS Security Services division was awarded a $58,200 contract ( N00189-08-P-0624) by FISC to perform Electronic Security enhancements to the recently renovated Port Operations harbor tower building at Norfolk Naval Station- W313. In addition, KIS will provide design and installation services for the Classified POMS network which will use the newly developed SecureLan Fiber optic Alarmed Carrier subsystem to provide complete “Classified” network security functions and notification of all alarm points to the NOC at KBB. This is the third such system deployed by KIS. Furthermore, KIS is known by CNMRA as the “ONLY” qualified vendor to do such work.

KIS President, Catherine H. Giordano will present the Keynote Address at the Women and Veterans Small Business Conference on May 15, 2008 at Virginia Western Community College, Roanoke, VA. This year's theme is "Get on Target: Learn Steps to Grow Your Business on Any Budget".

KIS President, Catherine H. Giordano testified in Washington last week before the House Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management that programs set up to help woman-owned businesses are not working. View the press release and Catherine’s complete testimony.

KIS President, Catherine H. Giordano was featured on the March 5 broadcast of HearSay with Cathy Lewis on WHRV discussing "Pentagon South", the branding strategy being pursued by a growing group of city development officials and local defense contractors to position Hampton Roads as a regional defense and homeland security superpower.

KIS is sponsoring an item donation drive to support our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Donations will be collected at both our Corporate and Rosemont locations through March 31, 2008.
